Lynette, Brandon e Jayson Gee<\/p><\/div>\n

Em 2005, o filho de Lynette e Jayson Gee, Brandon, desenvolveu esquizofrenia na tenra idade de onze anos (desenvolver esquizofrenia abaixo da idade de treze anos \u00e9 extremamente raro em um em 35.000). Ele foi originalmente informado por seus m\u00e9dicos que ele estaria em tratamento diurno, casas de grupo e hospitais pelo resto de sua vida. Escolhendo confiar em sua f\u00e9 crist\u00e3 e acreditar que Brandon seria curado, os Gee mantiveram o curso e caminharam ao lado de seu filho em sua jornada para a recupera\u00e7\u00e3o total.<\/p>\n

Brandon foi inicialmente tratado em um centro de tratamento de sa\u00fade mental localizado a uma hora e meia da casa de Gee, mas Jayson se comprometeu a visitar seu filho quase todos os dias durante um per\u00edodo de seis meses. Jayson garantiu a Brandon que seu tempo de doen\u00e7a era tempor\u00e1rio, nunca perdendo a esperan\u00e7a. Os m\u00e9dicos de Brandon ficaram surpresos com a frequ\u00eancia com que Jayson visitava seu filho e o encorajaram a n\u00e3o ir com tanta frequ\u00eancia, dizendo-lhe que ver Brandon era uma perda de tempo. E em sua doen\u00e7a, Brandon n\u00e3o queria nada com seu pai.<\/p>\n

Foi emocionalmente exaustivo e dif\u00edcil, pois Brandon continuou a lutar depois de tentar mais de 10 medicamentos diferentes. A jornada do Gee envolveu v\u00e1rias interna\u00e7\u00f5es hospitalares, casas de grupo, cuidados tempor\u00e1rios e escolas e instala\u00e7\u00f5es de tratamento diurno.<\/p>\n

Os Gee's se mudaram para Cleveland, Ohio em julho de 2006 e estavam determinados a n\u00e3o deixar Brandon em sua casa coletiva em Nova York. Depois de morar em Ohio por um ano, o m\u00e9dico informou aos Gee sobre um estudo realizado no NIH com adolescentes que tomavam clozapina. Em agosto de 2007, Brandon iniciou tratamento com clozapina e em menos de 6 meses suas alucina\u00e7\u00f5es desapareceram.<\/p>\n

Gra\u00e7as ao tratamento com clozapina, tr\u00eas anos depois, Brandon se recuperou totalmente e voltou para casa. Ele voltou ao ensino m\u00e9dio, jogou basquete competitivo no time do col\u00e9gio novamente e desfrutou de uma vida normal. Ele se formou no colegial em 2012. Hoje, Brandon tem 27 anos e comemora 13 anos em plena recupera\u00e7\u00e3o. Ele \u00e9 um estudante de honra com especializa\u00e7\u00e3o em administra\u00e7\u00e3o de empresas na Cincinnati State University. Ele tamb\u00e9m teve v\u00e1rios empregos como treinador de basquete em uma escola secund\u00e1ria e secund\u00e1ria e trabalhou no YMCA.<\/p>\n

Quando questionada sobre sua jornada como cuidadora, Lynette compartilha: \u201cEssa jornada me fez avaliar minha f\u00e9. Eu questionei, no que eu realmente acredito, n\u00e3o apenas quando as coisas est\u00e3o indo bem na vida, mas quando voc\u00ea atinge os tempos dif\u00edceis. Eu queria esconder o que nossa fam\u00edlia estava realmente passando. O sil\u00eancio e n\u00e3o poder compartilhar com algu\u00e9m apresentava ainda mais problemas. Descobri que tem gente que quer ajudar e servir da melhor forma que sabe. Quando me tornei mais transparente, o amor de Deus por mim foi demonstrado em e atrav\u00e9s de seu povo. \u00c9 por isso que considero uma honra e um privil\u00e9gio ser um apoio para outra pessoa.\u201d<\/p>\n

Como costuma acontecer, Lynette descobriu que outros membros da fam\u00edlia sofriam de doen\u00e7a mental e esquizofrenia.<\/p>\n

Lynette \u00e9 professora, empres\u00e1ria e m\u00e3e de tr\u00eas filhos. Ao longo dos anos, ela ensinou matem\u00e1tica no ensino m\u00e9dio e na faculdade. Ela tamb\u00e9m trabalhou na Packard Electric como engenheira industrial e em vendas na ind\u00fastria farmac\u00eautica. Hoje, ela trabalha com Gee Coaching, fazendo semin\u00e1rios e treinamentos para educadores e coaching de sa\u00fade individual.<\/p>\n

Jayson treina basquete masculino no n\u00edvel universit\u00e1rio. Ele treinou na Youngstown University, na University of Charleston WV, St. Bonaventure, Cleveland State, Longwood University e Winthrop University.
