Praticamente todos os hospitais estaduais fecharam com \u00eanfase em op\u00e7\u00f5es de vida independente e programas ambulatoriais.<\/p>\n<p>No Condado de Greene, temos a sorte de ter servi\u00e7os de sa\u00fade mental muito progressivos. Historicamente, quando uma pessoa \u00e9 colocada sob tutela, ela perde muitos de seus direitos pessoais. Isso inclui o direito de determinar onde eles v\u00e3o morar, o direito de votar, casar, dirigir e celebrar um contrato. A \u00eanfase agora \u00e9 esculpir muito estreitamente as restri\u00e7\u00f5es impostas a um indiv\u00edduo.<\/p>\n<p>Esta mudan\u00e7a \u00e9 de grande benef\u00edcio para aqueles com esquizofrenia. Isso reduz muito o estigma associado a um processo de tutela. O tribunal pode adaptar os poderes do guardi\u00e3o para serem usados apenas quando o doente mental precisar de hospitaliza\u00e7\u00e3o e se recusar a ir.
