Danielle Johnson, MD, MHA, DFAPA

Danielle Johnson, MD, MHA, DFAPA earned her medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. She completed psychiatry residency and was a chief resident at University of Cincinnati College of Medicine/The University Hospital. Dr. Johnson is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She received her Executive Master of Health Administration from University of Cincinnati.

Dr. Johnson is an Assistant Clinical Professor at University of Cincinnati College of Medicine Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences. She has spent her career at Lindner Center of HOPE in Mason, OH. She is Director of the Women’s Mental Health Program and was promoted to Chief Medical Officer in August 2019. Dr. Johnson is a member of the Ohio Psychiatric Physicians Association, where she served as Chair of the Ethics Committee and a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.

She is president of the International Society of Reproductive Psychiatry and a member of the Ohio Pregnancy-Associated Mortality Review Committee and Ohio Perinatal Mental Health Task Force.

Dr. Johnson was selected by her peers as one of Cincinnati Magazine’s Top Doctors in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2025, and 2026. She was awarded the 2020 Excellence in Mental Healthcare Exemplary Psychiatrist Award by NAMI Southwest Ohio.

She has presented regionally and nationally about mental health in women and underserved populations and has written for websites such as KevinMD.com and Doximity. She has been interviewed for several news shows, podcasts, and publications.
