Natasha Huelskamp donors

Natasha Marie Huelskamp, 29, of Delray Beach, FL, lost her hard-fought 10 year battle with schizoaffective disorder, depressive type, on September 18, 2025. She was a talented artist. Her personal mental health journey led her to become an advocate for mental health and suicide awareness. She proudly had the semicolon tattooed on her wrist not only to bring suicide awareness but as a personal testimony and reminder that HER life story wasn’t over. Natasha loved the annual NAMI Walk, as their Drop-In Centers and her NAMI Mentors played a special part in her journey. In spite of her own suffering, Natasha was known for her kind smile and encouraging words, especially for others she knew fighting similar battles. To those struggling with their mental health, Natasha would tell you to not wait another day to get help! Start fighting today! You are worthy!

From Natasha’s family: 对于那些家属被诊断患有精神分裂症且当前药物治疗没有改善的人，请极力敦劝您的医生尝试氯氮平（clozapine）。这是治疗精神分裂症的金标准药物，却往往甚至不被当作一种选择提供给患者。通过使用氯氮平，娜塔莎达到了“缓解”（即没有症状的时期），她希望自己能早点有机会尝试这种药物。.

There are not enough words to express just how grateful Tim and I are for all of the love, prayers and support showered upon our family in the loss of our dear, sweet Natasha. We cannot imagine walking this road without Our Lord and each of you with whom He has blessed us. 

A very special thank you to each donor to the Natasha Marie Huelskamp CURESZ Memorial Fund! Supporting organizations like CURESZ during this month of Mental Health Awareness is a wonderful way to show support of those like our Natasha who through no fault of their own face life each day with severe mental health challenges. Our family fully supports the invaluable work of CURESZ, as I have  come to personally know Bethany Yeiser, co-founder of CURESZ, and her mom Karen. We had the honor of being a part of a group of parents who brought Bethany to FL to share her personal story of hope and triumph over Schizophrenia to those in treatment, including Natasha, and their families. CURESZ mission includes:

• Bringing hope to all like our daughter Natasha who through no fault of their own find themselves diagnosed with a psychotic disorder and their families. Hope in the ever increasing prospect of remission and recovery!
• Fighting to eliminate the stigma of serious psychiatric brain disorders like psychosis. One way is by equating them with other neuropsychiatric disorders like Huntington’s and Parkinson’s.
• Enabling early intervention/diagnosis by educating our at-risk population, high school/college age young adults, and their parents, so that they might recognize the signs/symptoms of these illnesses in themselves or others. Due to a condition called anosognosia, it’s quite often those around and closest to the person who first recognize the signs/symptoms.
