Vitucci Memorial Lecture October 18 2023, 12pm Eastern Standard Time

The CURESZ Foundation welcomes Xavier Amador, PhD, to present a virtual lecture in memory of Anthony Vitucci titled:

Improving Insight in Schizophrenia and other Psychotic Disorders. 在此处查看讲座。

Poor insight in schizophrenia and other psychotic disorder is common affecting about 50% of such patients. Research on the causes and clinical impact of this symptom will be presented. Evidence indicating that poor insight is a neurocognitive symptom (anosognosia) rather than a coping strategy (e.g., denial) will be discussed. A role play will be used to experience anosognosia in persons with delusions. LEAP, an evidence based communication approach designed to engage such patients will be reviewed.
