CURESZ Foundation Essay Contest 2026
The CURESZ Foundation is hosting another essay competition, and we’re open for submission now! We encourage students, caregivers, clinicians, people living with schizophrenia and anyone who works in mental health to submit an original article to our foundation at [email protected]. These articles should focus on psychosis and schizophrenia spectrum disorders.
We encourage articles on a person’s relationship with a loved one or friend who has schizophrenia, or a personal story of one’s own recovery. We would also like to hear about what you are learning in school or internships dealing with the mentally ill, and how that compares with what you thought you knew. We welcome articles on special patients or clients who have impacted your life.
We are accepting articles under 1300 words.
This year we will recognize a first place and second place winner in each of two categories:
Clinicians, medical students and residents
Caregivers, persons living with schizophrenia and students (not medical students)
For first place in both categories, we will be awarding each winner $500. A runner up in each category will receive $250.
Winners’ articles will be published in the CURESZ Newsletter in 2027.
Winners will also be given signed copies of the CURESZ Foundation’s book Awakenings: Stories of Recovery and Emergence from Schizophrenia.
The contest will close out this year on October 1st and winners will be notified by November 15, 2026.
